WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY

"Justin has been working with 2 of our horses the last few months. I have been nothing but impressed with the way in which he handles them, always patient and kind. We have sent horses to quite a few ”trainers”over the years and not always with these results. I would totally recommend Justin."
Irene Druwe

"Justin is great with my horses and great with the people he's working with. My Smoke was one tough horse to break of bad habits. We were successful. I appreciate being a part of the training and we work as a team. I have had a few trainers and he's been the most reliable and trusted with my horses."

Brigitte Compton

"I have been fortunate enough to work with Justin since June. My mare has an issue with confidence and reacts to unknown objects. Justin started from scratch doing ground work, progressed to riding helping her and I with "our" nervousness. I wish all trainers would take the time to work on the route of the problem. Out of the 3 trainers I've used he's had the best results. Justin is very kind, patient and methodical with his approach. I highly recommend him."
Brenda Ryan

"He was amazing from beginning to the completion of our session!! I’d never met or talked to Justin prior to reaching out to him to set up training sessions for my 2 horses. We ended up putting them into a winter workshop, and I’ll tell you… no regrets at all! He is truly a man who loves what he does, and loves horses. Not only that, I’ve come to realize that he is a really good person. Thanks Justin!"

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Training At Your Facility

How far will you travel?

For individual sessions or special trips, I can travel up to 30 minutes. In the case of full-day commitments, I can travel up to 4 hours. However, it's important to consider that longer distances may affect the ability to maintain consistent training due to time constraints.

Do you bring your own saddle?

No, I don’t bring my saddle as I prefer to ride in the saddle that the client uses so that the horse is ridden in the same tack.

What kind of horses do you work with?

I do not specialize in a certain breed but rather in getting their brains in gear.

Are you insured?

Yes I am! I am insured at working at my location, client locations, clinics, and teaching.

Can I get you out for an assessment session to see if we are a good fit?

Yes! I encourage people to take an assessment session to get to know me and their horse. It is not a free session but it allows you to pick and choose who your trainer’s going to be.

Can I watch you train my horse?

Yes! I always prefer that my clients watch and be involved so that I can explain everything that I am doing. We encourage you to take advantage of  watching the training, be involved, and watch the live streams!

What sort of work area do you need?

I am able to make many environments work, but the ideal and safest first session location will always be a round pen. A suitable alternative is a workspace around 60 feet wide that had a grippy soft footing.

Can you start a horse at my location?

Yes I absolutely can! It is one of the things that differentiate me from many. Currently i can’t travel four days s week to the same client unless you pick my premium package. Many prefer to start their own horse along with my help because there is more accountability. The ideal person is someone who can be involved and work alongside the horse a couple days a week when I am not there.

How long have you been training?

An answer in years can be deceptive so I prefer to answer in hours. They say it takes 10,000 hours to become proficient st something. Doing 30 sessions a week over the last few years I have logged somewhere between 7,000-10,000 training hours.

Training At Our Facility

Where do you train?

I am able to take a couple horses at a time at my Winnipeg location, especially horses that are focused on trail riding as I have access to forests and the flood way. I have a couple parter locations where I intermittently train if there are enough horses to travel to those locations.

Do you have a minimum amount of time that I need to send your horse to you?

Yes, horses in a Training Program at our facility are required to commit to a minimum of 90-days to help ensure that you and your horse have ample time to learn and progress together throughout the training journey.

Can I come see my horse while he/she is in training?

Yes as much as you want and our schedules allow!

Do your partner locations offer indoor or outdoor board?

They only offer outdoor board with free-choice hay and water. All supplements and feed must be provided
